Faith and therapy, in the same room

Online care with a licensed Muslim therapist for clinical care and an imam, chaplain or spiritual advisor for spiritual guidance. One shared care plan.

You shouldn’t have to choose

Between therapy that skips your faith and spiritual care that skips the clinical work.

Usually

  • Therapy and spiritual support happen separately, and you connect the two.
  • Your imam can offer guidance, but not clinical care.
  • You explain everything twice.

With Zaha

  • Your therapist and spiritual advisor work from one shared plan.
  • You get both, each from someone suited to it.
  • Both hear your story together at your first session.

Your care team

Two providers One plan

  1. Therapist

    Licensed in your state

Helps with what you’re going through, using evidence-based therapy.

  2. Spiritual advisor

    Imam or chaplain

Offers space for questions of faith, meaning and spiritual practice. They don’t diagnose or provide therapy.

  3. One plan

    Shared from your first session

With your permission, they aim to keep each other updated, so you don’t have to repeat yourself.

  • Therapist

    Mariam Saibu

Much of what women carry has never been said out loud to anyone. Mariam’s work starts by making it safe to say.

  • Chaplain

    Tauseef Akbar

Grief, doubt and belonging are less problems to solve than weights to carry with someone beside you.

  • Therapist

    Saliha Qadir

Most couples are really asking one question: can we find our way back to each other. Saliha keeps faith in the room while they do.

Tell us your state, and we’ll email you when care opens there. We only write when there’s news.

Common questions

Where do you operate?

Online, in the US. We open one state at a time, because therapists can only see clients in states where they’re licensed. Join the waitlist with your state and we’ll email you when we open there.

Is this confidential?

Yes. Your sessions are private, and we never sell your information or share it with advertisers. Our privacy policy explains what is shared and with whom.

There are a few legal exceptions every therapist must follow: if someone is in immediate danger, if a child, older or dependent adult may be abused or neglected, or if a court orders it. Your therapist explains these at your first session, and your spiritual advisor follows the same rules. Because we don’t bill insurance, no diagnosis goes to an insurer unless you choose to send a superbill yourself.

How much does it cost? Do you take insurance?

Programs cost from $600 (Mithaq) to $3,000 (Rahma) in total. Most are $200 a session, one a week, charged to your card when each session is booked, so there’s no big upfront payment. HSA and FSA cards work where your plan allows.

We don’t bill insurance. If you want to claim out-of-network, we can give you a superbill for your therapy sessions. It includes a diagnosis code that goes on your insurance record, so if that matters to you, just don’t submit it. Your care is the same either way.

Can I ask for a man or a woman?

Yes. For each provider you can choose a man, a woman, or no preference, and we’ll tell you plainly if we can’t match it. Right now all our therapists are women, and some of our spiritual advisors are too. If you’d prefer a male imam, that’s common, and we’ll look for one for you.

Can sessions fit around prayer times?

Yes. Before you start, tell us which times to avoid, like prayer times or jumu’ah. It doesn’t change the price or the number of sessions.

Is Zaha right for me?

You don’t need to be in crisis. We help with anxiety and low mood, OCD, divorce, grief, preparing for marriage, and marriage itself. We don’t yet have a program for trauma.

Zaha works best if you want both a therapist and a spiritual advisor. If you only want one, or another kind of care would suit you better, we’ll tell you honestly.

Zaha is not emergency care. If you’re in immediate danger, call 911. In crisis or distress, call or text 988, or call Naseeha at 1-866-627-3342.

How much will faith come into it?

As much or as little as you want. Du’a and other religious elements are offered, never assumed.

What happens after I join the waitlist?

Nothing, for now. Joining doesn’t start care or hold a place. When we open in your state, we’ll email you the program, price and times, before you share anything about your health. If the timing isn’t right, just say so and you’ll stay on the list.

How do I sign in?

Use “Log in” at the top of the page. You don’t sign up on this site: when you’re ready to start, we’ll email you an invitation to set your password.

Forgot your password? Use “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page. If your invitation has expired, email care@zaha.health and we’ll resend it.
