Jawad Bayat

Eastern Time (US)

He trains the chaplains that hospitals rely on

Dr. Jawad Bayat is Manager of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, overseeing CPE programs across the greater Philadelphia region. He is an ACPE Certified Educator and National Faculty member. Before this he was Associate Director for Clinical Pastoral Education at Penn Medicine Princeton Health. Before that, Imam and Certified Educator in training at the Cleveland Clinic.

He holds a Doctor of Ministry from Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit. His dissertation advanced Clinical Pastoral Education theory through the lens of Hajj, bringing the tradition's deepest journey into the training of chaplains. He earned his MA in Religious Studies (Islamic Studies and Christian–Muslim Relations) and a Graduate Certificate in Islamic Chaplaincy from Hartford International University, where he now serves on the Board of Trustees.

Faith can go quiet in a hard season, and doubt rarely announces itself. Jawad’s work is to stay with the questions long enough that a person can find their own way back, without pressure.
