A counselor who works where faith and culture meet

Muhibbah Khan is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. She earned both her B.A. in Psychology (minor in Human Development & Family Studies) and her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston.

As a Pakistani American Muslim woman, Muhibbah works closely with individuals from diverse and minority backgrounds. She is drawn to the problems that arise when individualistic and collectivist cultures come together, and to the connection between religion and mental health. She offers Islamic counseling alongside evidence-based clinical care.

Her clinical approach draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. She has supported clients through anxiety, depression, crisis, and the weight of cultural identity. At Zaha she works within the mild-to-moderate range the programs are built for.

At Zaha, Muhibbah joins as one of the first therapists.

Many Muslims were taught to carry hard things quietly and call it sabr. Muhibbah’s work is helping people hold faith and healing at once, rather than choosing between them.
