Nora Zaki Mantaş

Central Time (US)

A Muslim chaplain who teaches the tradition she practices

Nora Zaki Mantaş is an adjunct professor at Dominican University, teaching theology at the Rosary College of Arts, Education, and Sciences. Before Dominican, she served as the Muslim chaplain at Vassar and Bard Colleges.

She holds a Master of Divinity from the University of Chicago and an MA in Religious Studies from Chicago Theological Seminary. Her BA, from the University of Florida, is in Arabic, Religion and Political Science. She is also the founder of MyMuslimChaplain, which offers chaplaincy workshops, services, and consultation.

Faith rarely leaves all at once; more often it becomes distance, and the quiet question of whether you still belong. Nora helps people find their footing in the tradition again, at whatever pace they set for themselves.
